The UCL Summer School in Homer is offering a rare opportunity to spend an intensive week studying the history of Latin scripts from the age of Augustus to the invention of printing, and acquiring palaeographical skills by transcribing texts written in a variety of these scripts. Where possible, the texts will have a Homeric theme, but the focus will be on the palaeography itself. Participants should have at least a rudimentary knowledge of Latin in order to participate in the transcription exercises, but non-Latinists can be admitted.
